Caring for Athletes
At Syracuse Area Health-Strasburger Orthopaedics, caring for athletes is one of our top priorities. Whether you have a child in sports, are a competitive athlete yourself, or just enjoy an active lifestyle that includes recreational sports, we can help keep you healthy and treat any injuries that may occur as a result of athletic participation.
Dr. Scott Strasburger is uniquely positioned to provide specialized sports medicine services to athletes as a former Husker himself who enjoyed a collegiate/pro sports career. He knows how important it is to have qualified sports medicine professionals helping parents, coaches, and players preserve health and functionality.
Dr. Strasburger provides conservative treatments and surgical interventions to remediate joint and bone injuries such as:
- Strains and Sprains
- Runner’s Knee
- Tennis Elbow
- Rotator Cuff Injuries
- SLAP Tears
- Labrum Tears
- ACL Injuries
- Shoulder Impingement
- Ankle Instability
… and more.
Working alongside Dr. Strasburger is Megan Neemann, MS, LAT, ATC, an athletic trainer with 10 years of experience. She’s an integral part of the sports medicine program, helping athletes reach and maintain their full potential by developing athletic training programs personalized to the player. This approach helps both new and experienced athletes reduce the chances of injury on and off the field.
Our sports outreach program is designed to provide a range of services from sideline support and training room assistance to sports injury treatments. We work with many teams in Lincoln and the surrounding communities to provide orthopaedic support and timely interventional care.
